News of the Day: Irene vs Sandy

This comparison image of Hurricane Irene, which slammed into the Northeast in August of 2011 vs. Hurricane Sandy, which hit the same region of the country in late October 2012, shows the dramatic difference between the two storms. The size of Hurricane Sandy was estimated to be approximately 1,000 miles across.
