However, the liars in Washington regularly change the way they figure inflation in order to downplay the effects of the Fed’s catastrophic monetary policies. If we were using the same guidelines as the BLS used in 1980, the current US inflation rate would be 17.5 percent. That’s approximately what the Weimar Republic’s rate was in 1922. By 1924, they were measuring inflation in the billions. The collapse, when it comes, will be total, and it will be devastating. Consider yourself warned, and plan accordingly.     For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.   Proverbs 1:32 ([Location 96](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=96)) - In 1963, the churches of America sat in their easy chairs as a tiny minority led by Madalyn Murry O'Hair lobbied to have prayer and the Bible removed from public schools. The argument was that no religion should be promoted over another. Yet one is. It's the religion of atheistic humanism. It is taught in all public-school science classes, propagated through evolutionary theory. This religion teaches children that everything came from nothing and that there is no God. Its adherents are among the most zealous and intolerant. And they abide by a single commandment: do what thou wilt. ([Location 105](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=105)) - Just as the terms male and female are subjective, so are the concepts of right and wrong. ([Location 117](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=117)) - These decisions are not the products of incompetence nor acts of buffoonery. They are intentional. Their aim is to collapse Western civilization, to make way for a new global order, to depopulate the planet for the good of mother earth, and to enslave the survivors. ([Location 128](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=128)) - If I were the devil … if I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness. And I’d have a third of its real estate, and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree—thee. So, I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first—I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve, “Do as you please.” To the young, I would whisper that “the Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what’s bad is good, and what’s good is square. And the old, I would teach to pray, after me, “Our Father, which art in Washington…” And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves, until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings, I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions—just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door. Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography—soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches, I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil, I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle. If I were the devil, I’d take from those who have, and give to those who want until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And what do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would caution against extremes and hard work in patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus, I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil, I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.”   If I Were the Devil, Paul Harvey—1965 ([Location 145](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=145)) - He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.   Proverbs 13:20 ([Location 1191](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1191)) - “After World War II, the major world leaders met at a huge hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. They hammered out a global currency system that would peg all other currencies to the dollar, and peg the dollar to gold at a rate of $35 per ounce. Long story short, the US abused its position as issuer of the world’s reserve currency by printing too many dollars. Countries like France saw the charade and started cashing in their dollars for gold bullion. “Like all other Ponzi schemes, the US wasn’t able to make good on its commitment to have the dollar fully convertible to gold. So, in 1971, Nixon closed the gold window, ending the dollar’s convertibility for gold and defaulting on the Brenton Woods agreement. That was the beginning of the end for the dollar.” ([Location 1420](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1420)) - In 1973, Henry Kissinger held a meeting with the Saudi Royal Family. He convinced them to settle all oil contracts in dollars. In return, the US promised to defend Saudi Arabia militarily. That agreement established what’s known as the petrodollar. Since the dollar was no longer backed by gold, it would be backed by oil, which kept the US currency from plummeting into complete free fall.” ([Location 1428](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1428)) - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.   Galatians 6:7-8 ([Location 1654](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1654)) - When people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic.   Benjamin Franklin ([Location 1807](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1807)) - Inflation and recessions affect people in the lowest social strata first. They are the ones living paycheck to paycheck and have the least margin to absorb job losses or price increases for basic commodities. Next in line are the middle class. They tighten their belts, cut unnecessary spending.” He looked over his shoulder. “They stop going out to restaurants, or exchange table service for fast food venues.” He stood up from the stairs and tossed his board to the street. “But not the wealthy. They’re the last to feel the effects of massive inflation.” ([Location 1856](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=1856)) - the streets of Los Angeles—Lost Angeles, I call it. This city has nearly succumbed to the lost angels, do you know what I mean?” ([Location 3001](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=3001)) - When people become frightened, they look for things of real value. They will go to monetary metals, gold and silver, and they will buy other things, such as buying property. But no matter what we have, whether we have our gold coins or we have our property, if we have an authoritarian government, that is our greatest threat. So, I would like to think that there is no perfect protection, other than shrinking the size and scope, and power of government so that we can be left alone and take care of ourselves.   Ron Paul ([Location 3693](https://readwise.io/to_kindle?action=open&asin=B0BCHGKMB6&location=3693))
